As a good many of you know, Blue Raymond came to stay with us May 25th, 2011 after a long quarantine at the Linn County Dog Control. He had been placed there in September of 2010 after the city deemed him a dangerous dog for biting a child who got into his kennel with him while he was eating. Needless to say, Blue has been the subject of debate concerning the city ordanance for dog bites and how they should be handled. Since our first meeting of him, we have not seen the dangerous dog he has been labled. Granted we do not know the whole story and can not recreate what happened that fateful day, but he has shown us a different side from what was portrayed, so we have been logging his story since he joined us.

Since Blue's departure from our facility in October, we wanted to acknowledge some of the people who did so much to help him.
Shari Halverson, you and your group of supporters were amazing activists and we can not thank you enough for all the time and effort you put into Blue's cause and helping instigate a change in the city's outdated dog laws.
Furthermore, the Albany Pet Hotel would like to thank all of our gracious donors who supported Blue during his stay with us. Your financial contributions, as well as your encouragement and emotional support are tremendously appreciated. Each one of you helped change Blue's life and gave him the care and concern he deserved.
Linda & Larry Schader The people responsible for Blue's care fund
Barbara Ayer The Albany Animal Hospital
June Rogers Councilor Dick Olson

Dr. Arlene Brooks and to all the people who brought in delicious food and treats for Blue
We sincerely thank each of you and everyone who believed in his freedom. We wish Blue a long, healthy, happy life.
